New Carpet

obsessed with weight

This is probably the number one thing we warn people about when buying rugs. Don't assume that a rug with a top is better than a rug with a bottom. It is an easy mistake to make because we can easily grasp the concept of assigning a numerical value to something to indicate quality; in other words, we "get" the idea that a greater number (weight) is better. However, when it comes to rugs, there are many other factors that come into play. Unfortunately, many salespeople are too uninformed or too indifferent to adequately explain this to customers. It is easier to tell someone than 50 ounces. the mat is better than a 40 oz. carpet that explain all the other considerations:, etc. Skimp on Underpad

This is the worst mistake you could make when buying a new carpet. Trust us, we know how hard it is to justify the extra expense for something you can't even see. You'd probably rather save the money and spend it on things you can sit back and watch - take the money you save on the bottom pad and buy a new lamp, perhaps. But most of the time, what you can't see is what matters most. For example, consider your car tires or your mattress. Neither has any aesthetic value, but both are extremely important for your safety and comfort. The same goes for the bottom pad of the carpet.

The insole prevents wear and tear on the carpet by absorbing the impact of foot traffic so the carpet doesn't have to. Not only will a better quality lower pad feel more comfortable to walk on; It will also help your carpet look better for a longer period of time than a low quality tampon.

We can't stress this enough: your mat is only as good as your bottom pad. If you're working on a tight budget, you'll want to spend a little less for the mat and a little more for the bottom pad. A lower quality mat will look, feel and perform better with a higher quality lower pad. Assuming the rugs are the same, because they look the same

This caveat is especially true if you receive quotes from different retailers on different products. As they say, be sure to compare apples to apples! Just because two rugs look and feel the same doesn't necessarily mean they'll perform the same. So how can you compare different products? Make sure they are made of the same fiber, are the same and of the same quality. Also, compare carpet manufacturers closely. If one carpet has a 10-year warranty and the other has a 20-year warranty, then obviously you are not looking for the same quality as the carpet.
